Finding Peace In Uncertain Times

Anxiety - "Finding A Place of Peace"

Thank you for visiting my website to take advantage of this complimentary self-hypnosis session to help manage stress, fear, and anxiety.

Simply taking 25 minutes out of your day to relax your mind and body can be very beneficial and this recording is designed to help you do just that.

The recording is best listened to with earbuds or headphones. You will be guided into a state of enjoyable relaxation while listening to the sound of the ocean, music and a chorus of positive suggestions playing softly in the background.

*Special Note: Never listen to this session while driving or operating heavy machinery.

** This is a self-hypnosis recording and the only people it is not suitable for are individuals with serious mental health issues, such as schizophrenia and clinical depression.

In addition to listening to this recording once each day, I would highly recommend incorporating the following strategies into your daily life to minimize anxiety:

Exercise for 30 Minutes Each Day - Ideally, Outside - Exercise has such a profound effect on happiness and well-being that it has been proven to be an effective strategy for overcoming stress and anxiety.

Accept that Anxiety is a Learned Behavior - Remind yourself that the feelings of anxiety do not belong to you. When you experience any of those old unwanted sensations, look around and reassure yourself that there are no immediate dangers.

Eat 3 Meals Each Day - Choose Nutritional Foods - Limit sugar, alcohol, and caffeine intake. Since anxiety is physiological, stimulants may have a significant impact.

Increase the Joy in Your Life - Build a complementary set of neural pathways so that your brain begins to default to feelings of joy and relaxation.

As you continually instruct your mind's attention to good feelings it will notice them more and more often. From this moment forward, any time you notice yourself feeling particularly good, put your hand on your heart and take a moment to acknowledge how wonderful that feels. Next, give your mind the instruction to seek out more of this good feeling in the future or simply say aloud or think to yourself: "I feel good!"

Get Plenty of Sleep - Good quality sleep is essential for a healthy mind and body. Insufficient sleep can have a detrimental effect on your mood. Sleep deprivation can increase anxiety levels as well.

Anxiety Distraction Techniques - Distraction is simply focusing your attention onto something else for a few moments. It can be a good way to fend off any sudden symptoms of anxiety. This can also allow you to "take a step back from the world" and take a more considered approach to the situation, rather than a "reactive" one.

If you do this for 2-3 minutes, you will find that sudden symptoms will tend to dissipate.

Choose any one of these distraction techniques:

  • Visualize, imagine, or think about being in a beautiful place or a favorite vacation destination. Close your eyes and imagine every aspect of that place - what it looks like, sounds like, and feels like to be there....
  • Close your eyes and slowly count backwards from 300 - if you forget where you were, simply start again where you think you left off, and allow your mind to wander to wherever it chooses to wander to.....
  • Engage in an "Active" activity - Go for a walk or participate in a creative activity such as cooking, drawing, or painting.

If I can help or give you any further advice, please feel free to get in touch.
